Já há algum tempo que mantenho o meu calendário de lançamentos para poder ir adquirindo os livros dos meus autores favoritos assim que saírem. Bem, na verdade, este calendário não tem apenas os livros de autores favoritos, mas também aqueles que mais me captaram interesse. Sem grande compromisso em relação à frequência, vou partilhar convosco alguns dos livros que espero ansiosamente para os próximos dois meses.

Li o primeiro volume de Murderbot (Sistemas em estado crítico) na edição portuguesa da Relógio d’Água. O humor ácido e inteligente do ciborgue, parte humano parte máquina, cativou-me. Sem perspectiva de lançamento dos restantes volumes em português (a editora costuma anunciar os direitos que vai adquirindo e estes não se encontram na lista) já li, entretanto, todos os restantes em inglês, na edição da Tor em capa dura. A qualidade e foco vai tendo algumas oscilações, com alguns volumes mais centrados em Murderbot, e outros onde é uma personagem mais secundária (ainda que essencial). O próximo volume denomina-se Platform Decay e tem lançamento previsto para meio de Maio.

Como já repeti aqui algumas vezes, quando a T. Kingfisher lança um livro, um faço uma encomenda. A autora vai variando em estilo e género, oscilando sobretudo entre horror e fantasia, misturando os dois na maioria das suas narrativas. Existe, também, uma excepcional história de ficção científica (que até ganhou um prémio) mas não é um género que habitualmente a autora explore. Este Wolf Worm também promete terror gótico, centrando-se num parasitologista e o respectivo ilustrador que se deparam com outros monstros para além dos insectos.

Parece que as histórias com referências a idiomas e a memórias estão na moda. Neste caso, trata-se de um livro de ficção científica onde alguém se vai incluir numa nova cultura, como forma de roubar um segredo. Mas a inclusão tem os seus próprios desafios e riscos:
